Last night the two main contenders for US President debated issues including tax policy, jobs, energy, and the national debt. During the debate President Barack Obama proposed "the way we're going to create jobs here is not just to change our tax code but also to double our exports." But to whom, exactly, can we export? The Eurozone, the US's largest trading partner, is contracting, and major emerging markets are slowing down. On the other hand, Mitt Romney stated that, "On day one, I will label China a currency manipulator." China is the largest foreign customer for US debt; do we really want to start a trade war with China? And where was the discussion of lobbying, of special interests and of the favorable treatment for connected, too-big-to-fail firms? What about a serious conversation that delves into how we may finally begin slicing into the sacred cow of military spending and the major firms that benefit from it? Perhaps when it comes to these issues, the candidates are not very different; our guest, Joel Bowman, Managing Editor for The Daily Reckoning, describes the candidates as "Obamney" and "Robama." We talk to Joel Bowman about why he feels the two candidates are not so different after all. Plus, we often hear about likely voters, but what about the non-voter class in the US? Non-voters include those who are disillusioned by the lack of choice of candidates ... Author: CapitalAccount Duration: 28:04

When Obama was running for president he made the American people a promise to close Guantanamo Bay. The detention prison has been open for 10 years and was originally opened by the Bush administration. In his first week as president, Obama signed a mandate to close the facility within 2010. Years later, however, Guantanamo Bay remains open and has over 200 detainees. Why hasn't President Obama fulfilled his promise to close the controversial detention center? Obama Provides Terrorists a Safe Haven While Hailing Death of Al-Awlaki The hypocrisy is staggering, even by Obama's standards Paul Joseph Watson www.infowars.com www.prisonplanet.tv Friday, September 30, 2011 President Barack Obama has triumphantly hailed the death of Anwar al-Awlaki as a crushing blow to Al-Qaeda's hopes of acquiring a safe haven, even as the US-backed NATO bombardment of Libya provides terrorists with a safe haven in North Africa. Responding to the news that Al-Awlaki, who received an upgrade in his role after death to "chief of external operations" for al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula, had been killed, Obama labeled it "another significant milestone" in the war on terror, adding, "This is further proof that al Qaeda and its affiliates will have no safe haven anywhere in the world." Aside from the fact that Al-Awlaki was a confirmed double agent, having dined at the Pentagon shortly after 9/11 despite being declared the spiritual leader of the hijackers, and going on to become chief patsy handler for intelligence agency entrapment operations, the hypocrisy here is staggering even by Obama's standards. If Obama was so concerned about not providing safe havens to terrorists, then why has he just helped hand an entire country over to them in Libya? As we have previously highlighted, shortly after the start of the conflict in March, Abdel-Hakim al-Hasidi, the leader of the anti-Gaddafi rebel army, admitted that the rebel ranks include Al-Qaeda terrorists ... Author: TheAlexJonesChannel Duration: 15:20

Cenk Uygur (host of The Young Turks) on MSNBC Live speaks with millionaires who signed a letter asking president Obama to let the Bush tax cuts for the rich expire. ______ Some liberal millionaires are putting their money where their mouths are: they are calling on Democrats to stay true to their word and allow the Bush-era tax cuts for the wealthiest to expire next year. Joining the likes of Warren Buffett and George Soros, a calling themselves "patriotic millionaires" want President Barack Obama and congressional Democrats to raise their taxes to levels before former President George W. Bush cut them in 2001. "We have done very well over the last several years," about 50 millionaires including several early Google Inc. executives and the founder of IAC's Ask.com, say in a letter to leaders. "We don't need more tax cuts, and we understand that cutting our taxes will increase the deficit and the debt burden carried by other taxpayers." Obama wants to let lower tax rates expire above the first $200000 of an individual's income but has been clashing with Republicans, and some in his own party, in Congress on a deal to prevent all taxpayers from seeing hikes on January 1. The group is asking policymakers to extend the higher rates for those making more than $1 million. New York Democratic Senator Chuck Schumer has suggested that benchmark, as have some others. "They felt comfortable speaking for themselves and their income bracket," a spokeswoman for the group said. The ... Author: TheYoungTurks Duration: 7:56
