Работы над газопроводом начались ещё летом прошлого года, но были остановлены из-за начавшихся в Сирии беспорядков. Трубопровод протяженностью в 1500 км должен обеспечить доставку иранского газа в Дамаск. Некоторые считают, что именно этот проект, равно как и проект «Арабского газопровода» из Египта в Сирию стал причиной развязанного против неё террора. Кому же так помешали трубы? На самом деле никому. Трубы будут построены в любом случае, вопрос только в том, кто будет участвовать в проекте. По одному из замыслов, поступающий на территорию Сирии газ будет далее через Средиземное море поставляться в Европу. Это делает правительство Сирии важной фигурой в схеме, так как именно оно будет сидеть на вентиле. Башар Асад в силу многих причин не устраивал арабских и западных властителей в качестве такой кандидатуры. Поэтому задача его замены на подконтрольное правительство и является для них первостепенной. Другой вариант предполагает отправку газа из Сирии в Европу не через море, а по земле через Турцию. Анкара, естественно, настаивает именно на таком варианте, так как в нём посидеть на вентиле удастся и ей. Этим во многом объясняется иррациональная агрессивность Турции в отношении ближайшего соседа. "This Land Is Your Land" is one of the United States' most famous folk songs. Its lyrics were written by Woody Guthrie in 1940 based on an existing melody, in response to Irving Berlin's "God Bless America", which Guthrie considered unrealistic and complacent. Tired of hearing Kate Smith sing it on the radio, he wrote a response originally called "God Blessed America for Me". Many versions of the song have been recorded, with lyrics adjusted to fit other countries or regions. The song was brought back to life in the 1960s, when several artists of the new folk movement, including Bob Dylan, The Kingston Trio, Trini Lopez, Jay and the Americans, and The New Christy Minstrels all recorded versions, inspired by its political message. Peter, Paul and Mary recorded the song in 1962 for their Moving album. The Seekers recorded the song for their 1965 album, A World of Our Own. Bruce Springsteen released a live version of it on Live/1975-85, in which he called it "about one of the most beautiful songs ever written."[ Numerous records have been released since. Dave Matthews has periodically sung the song's first verse as an outro while performing "Don't Drink The Water". In 2007, Counting Crows released an acoustic version as a bonus track on August and Everything After. I believe the reason why Obama is pulling our troops out of Iraq by the end of this year is so they will be ready for war with Iran. Just recently there was a supposed plot for the assassination of the Saudi Arabian Ambassador, and the Israeli Ambassador in Washington DC by the Iranians. Obama stated that he is thinking about tougher sanctions, and even considering, sending in Drones to bomb their leaders. This is serious, and must not be taken lightly.
