During his second campaign for reelection, President Obama ran on a platform of decidedly progressive ideals, but will follow through with them and actually lead progressively? During the campaigns, many conservative pundits put their feet down, exclaiming a decisive victory for Romney. Now that it's clear that didn't happen, are they backtracking?, or taking responsibility? Lastly, the story of General David Petraeus' affair has filled the airwaves since it broke, pushing stories like the Occupy Movement helping with Hurricane Sandy Relief out of the media's attention. Are stories about sex scandals more important and interesting than others, and are they worth our attentions? Greg Proops (Comedian, Smartest Man in The World Podcast) lead this weeks panel to discuss these issues and more with Jimmy Dore (Comedian, The Jimmy Dore Show), Alyona Minkovski (Host, HuffPost Live), and Hugo Schwyzer (History and Gender Studies Professor, Pasadena City College). "President Barack Obama won last night's presidential debate with Republican challenger Mitt Romney, according to a CNN/ORC International poll of 457 registered voters who watched the nationally televised event. Forty-six percent of those surveyed said Obama fared better in the debate, compared with 39 percent for Romney, according to results aired on CNN after the event. It's the new year and the US government has passed 40000 new laws to ring in 2012. One of the most controversial laws that President Obama signed is the National Defense Authorization Act. The legislation allows for the indefinite detention and torture of someone suspected of being a member of al-Qaeda, including US citizens. Many Americans are concerned that their civil liberties are deteriorating and are giving up on their own government. George Hemminger, founder of Survive and Thrive TV, gives us his take on NDAA and SOPA. Author: RTAmerica Duration: 6:44

On this first live show of 2012, Alex takes a large number of your calls and talks about the latest news, including the Iowa caucus tomorrow and Ron Paul's chances as the Republican establishment plots against him and pushes the script-reading warmongers Mitt Romney and the recently come-from-behind candidate Rick Santorum, who has proposed air strikes on Iran. Alex also talks about the concerted effort by the corporate media to fiddle with poll results in order to downplay Ron Paul's obvious lead in the eleventh hour before the caucus. Alex takes a look at the police state NDAA legislation signed into law by Obama, who promises he will not send the military to arrest American citizens and strip them of their rights under the Fourth Amendment. www.infowars.com Author: TheAlexJonesChannel Duration: 11:44
